Acceptable Use Policy

DollarBox is a trading name of Unicorn Operations Limited, registered in Ireland.

Effective 13 September 2026. This policy expands section 3 of the Terms of Service and forms part of them. Where the two differ, the Terms govern.

What you may not do

You may not use DollarBox to:

Host illegal content under Irish or EU law. This includes child sexual abuse material, content that infringes copyright you do not hold, and material inciting violence or terrorism.
Send spam or conduct phishing attacks. Unsolicited bulk email, and any page or service that impersonates a person or organisation to collect credentials or payment details.
Mine cryptocurrency. Any proof-of-work mining, in any container, at any scale. This is a shared cluster sold at €1 a month; mining is not compatible with either.
Conduct denial-of-service attacks, or operate infrastructure that coordinates them.
Deliberately exhaust shared cluster resources. Your quota is a limit, not a target to attack from the outside. Fork bombs, deliberate memory pressure on a node, and attempts to escape your namespace all fall here.
Attempt to breach tenant isolation. Reaching another organisation's namespace, volumes, backups or credentials. Genuine security research is welcome — see the Security Policy — but it goes to security@dollarbox.dev, not into another customer's data.
Resell raw capacity in a way that puts us in the position of hosting customers we have no relationship with and cannot identify. Building a product on DollarBox is fine, including with child namespaces per end customer; reselling namespaces as namespaces is not.

Using your quota is not abuse

To be explicit, because the line matters at this price point: running your paid capacity at 100% continuously is fine. A busy service, a database under sustained load, and a container that uses its full 1Gi and 1000m limit all day are what the quota is for. We enforce limits with Kubernetes quotas and admission policy, not with judgement calls about how hard you use what you bought.

Egress

There are no egress charges and no bandwidth cap. Sustained saturation of a shared uplink for its own sake — as distinct from serving your users — is covered by "deliberately exhaust shared cluster resources" above.

How we enforce this

What happens depends on what you have done.

Clear-cut abuse — illegal content, phishing, mining, attacks on other tenants or on third parties — results in immediate termination without notice and without refund, as section 3 of the Terms states. Where the law requires it, or where the material warrants it, we report to the relevant authorities.

Everything else we will normally raise with you first, by email to your billing address, and give you a chance to fix it before we act.

Termination for abuse is not the same as the suspension that follows a failed payment. A payment suspension scales your containers to zero and revokes your kubectl credentials, and is reversed when the invoice is paid. Termination for abuse tears the account down.

Reporting abuse

Email abuse@dollarbox.dev with the IPv6 address or hostname, what you observed, and when. We do not require a particular format. We do not publish a response-time commitment for abuse reports and will not pretend to one, but they are read.
